Understanding Equitable Services: Key Insights for Private School Leaders

This presentation will provide private school leaders with a foundational understanding of equitable services for students, educators, and families under federal programs. Attendees will learn about the key principles of equitable services, the consultation process, and the federal programs available to support their school communities. The session will also highlight the role of the ESSA Ombudsman in ensuring compliance and advocating for equitable access to resources. By the end of the training, participants will have the knowledge needed to make informed decisions, collaborate effectively, and access available resources to best support their school communities.

Meet the Speaker(s)

Sunita Holloway, Ed.D., ESSA Ombudsman and Outreach Program Manager

Sunita Holloway is the ESSA Ombudsman and Outreach Program Manager for the Georgia Department of Education (GaDOE). With over 33 years in education and a proven track record in serving private school students through equitable services, she currently advocates for the effective implementation of federal education policies to ensure all students have access to equitable educational opportunities. Sunita is also an active member of the ESEA Ombuds Collaborative National Workgroup, where she contributes to ongoing dialogue and the growth of the profession.

Registration

All webinars are $50 per session but are FREE to anyone from a MISBO member school. Webinars are one hour in length and begin at 2pm ET.


CPE Credit

MISBO is registered with the National Association of State Boards of Accountancy (NASBA) as a sponsor of continuing professional education on the National Registry of CPE Sponsors. State boards of accountancy have final authority on the acceptance of individual courses for CPE credit. Complaints regarding registered sponsors may be submitted to the National Registry of CPE Sponsors through its website: www.nasbaregistry.org.
