2024 Leadership Through Service Award Winners

MISBO is proud to announce Paul Ibsen and Ginny Phillippi as the 2024 recipients of the Leadership Through Service Award. This prestigious award recognizes individuals and partner organizations that have demonstrated exceptional leadership, dedication, and service to the MISBO community.

Paul Ibsen, who recently retired after a 23-year career as an independent school business officer, has been a long-time advocate for independent schools. His distinguished career includes service in the U.S. Coast Guard, the insurance industry, and key leadership roles within MISBO, NBOA, and NCAIS. His commitment to volunteerism and collaboration has made a lasting impact on the community.

Ginny photoGinny Phillippi, Senior Vice President at Truist Financial Corporation, brings over 30 years of experience working within the education sector. As a leader on the Education Specialty Practice Team, she manages banking relationships for over 60 private schools, colleges, and educational foundations. Since joining Truist in 1986, Ginny has held key positions in corporate lending, asset-based lending, and private wealth management. She is also a dedicated community leader, serving on the boards of the Better Business Bureau and The Cam Newton Foundation, among others.

The Leadership Through Service Award recognizes these individuals for their inspirational leadership, impactful contributions, and commitment to fostering an empowered independent school community. We are honored to celebrate their career long achievements at the 2024 MISBO Annual Conference in Greenville, SC.
