Resolution Roulette: Spin the MISBO Purchasing Consortium Wheel for Quality and Savings
By Susan Kimmel, Director of the Purchasing Consortium
Happy New Year, MISBO members! I hope your break was full of family, friends, good food, and a well-deserved rest.
We’ve all heard the saying, “New Year, New You.” January is the time when people all over America resolve to make their lives better, personally, professionally, financially, and more. Are you one of them? As we welcome in 2024, I want to take a quick little poll from our MISBO members.
When it comes to New Year's resolutions, which sentence resonates with you?
- I love New Years Resolutions!
- I’m more of a "casual promises I make to myself that I am under no legal obligation to fulfill" kind of person!
- Resolutions, Schmezolutions…I’m good!
From an article in Forbes Magazine and a 2022 poll by YouGov, 37% of Americans said they had a goal or resolution they wanted to achieve in 2023, with 87% saying they were very or somewhat likely to keep it through the year. However, that same poll shows that the average resolution lasts just 3.74 months.
Curious about the highest demographic setting goals? Fifty-nine percent of younger adults (18-34) make resolutions versus only 19% of those older than 55 years old.
Regardless of your thoughts about New Year’s goals – resolutions, casual promises, or no way – we know that our MISBO Consortium Partners will support your school’s goals and mission all year. Our purchasing consortium is curated with independent schools in mind, with top-notch products and services, at pre-negotiated rates, just for you!
